Question by SaveUsLita: What’s the difference in a single sided key and a double sided key?
I need to get a copy of a key. It’s a Faultless brand key. I’m not sure if it’s single sided or double sided. If it’s double sided, would Ace Hardware have to copy it double sided or could they make a single sided copy?
Basically, what I’m asking is – Would a single sided version of a double sided key still open the same lock? & vice versa.

Single sided key, one side is cut, key goes in one way, most house keys are this style http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B002SEXUM6/ref=as_li_ss_tl?ie=UTF8&camp=1789&creative=390957&creativeASIN=B002SEXUM6&linkCode=as2&tag=electpowerfix-20

Double sided, key cut no both side, key goes in either way, many car keys are this style depending on actual lock it may work if put in the right direction http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B005I60VZK/ref=as_li_ss_tl?ie=UTF8&camp=1789&creative=390957&creativeASIN=B005I60VZK&linkCode=as2&tag=electpowerfix-20

I think Faultless uses Schlage style blanks, usually SC1, a single cut key.
